Welcome to Shakawe Safaris
Shakawe is a privately owned (Father and son), family operated hunting safari company in South Africa, nested high on the Waterberg Mountain Limpopo, near Thabazimbi and Vaalwater. At Shakawe we like to keep our operation small and personal, giving each client that special interaction they deserve, “MEETING YOU AS A CLIENT, AND LEAVING AS FRIENDS”. Shakawe’s hunting area, 12 000 acres (5000ha + extra hunting concessions), consist of a variety of different landscapes, each landscape with its own habitat and biodiversity. Shakawe is home to 50 different species, that we conserve, with a 50-year combined hunting experience, through sustainable hunting.

We as hunters have a very important role when it comes to nature and the environment.
We see hunting as an essential part of conservation, so that our future generations
can experience and see what we have today.

Five days in this heaven on Earth Louis and his son has built. The only noise is that of nature. The Lions roar, the birds, the peace of it all is something that feeds the soul. The food, drink & service is beyond reproach. My husband was able to hunt the animals he dreamed of, and hunt them the way he wanted. Hannes, Eric & Jan were an amazing group of men in every way that a person would want for hunting and sharing a little time by the fire telling hunting stories, we will be back if the Lord allows!”
